PRE FACIAL INSTRUCTIONS

Avoid any strong at home facial treatments including acids & active ingredients.
No exfoliation or retinoids 3-5 days prior to facial.
Stay out of the sun & always wear SPF.
Schedule botox & filler 2 weeks prior or after your facial.
Know important event dates! Your skin could need extra healing time depending on the facial you receive. I will recommend a proper treatment that’s safe & effective still if you don’t have much time!
Know your medications & current at home regimen to avoid any type of reactions & to help me pinpoint any skin concerns you may have.
List of allergies
If wearing a mask, please bring a clean one to wear after your appointment.
Wash or change your pillowcases the day of your facial.

POST FACIAL INSTRUCTIONS

No sunbathing.
No picking/touching. A post facial purge is possible if you haven’t received a facial before or for awhile.
No makeup for at least 24 hours. This can be tweaked depending on your facial.
No exfoliation or retinoids for 3-5 day.
No hair removal (wax, shave or laser)
No cleansing with hot water. Cool/luke-warm always) This protects the health of your skin barrier.
DO gentle cleanse AM/PM.
DO stay hydrated & moisturized.
DO wash your pillowcases & makeup brushes before using again.
DO wear SPF every single day as your skin is more sensitive to sunlight after a facial.
If you received a fair amount of extractions during your appointment you could feel sensitive & experience redness for the next 24-48 hours. This will subside & is completely normal.
Please follow these guidelines the best you can to ensure optimal results from your facial treatment & to avoid any post facial breakouts or sensitivity. If you have any questions or need to double check, please don’t hesitate to contact me. Thank you.
All facial results will be visible over the course of the next few days following your appointment. To achieve max results & longevity, I recommend purchasing the iS Clinical products that fit your skincare needs & supports the health of your skin. These products can be purchased or shipped through Star Faced.
Please understand that if you have never received a facial before or it’s been some time since your last, there may be a purging process. Getting a facial is kind of like therapy. You have to dig deep to see progress! Having a breakout after a facial may be frustrating, but it’s your skin purging from a deep cleansing & exfoliation. These are not breakouts from a facial, but more of sneaky build up over time being brought to the surface. Stay hydrated, eat clean, and trust the process

POST DERMAPLANING INSTRUCTIONS

Steer clear of direct sun exposure for 2 weeks post-treatment and then use a high factor sunscreen (SPF 30+) to protect your freshly dermaplaned skin. Hats are always highly encouraged if you must be in the sun!
Avoid the use of saunas or steam rooms and don’t engage in any strenuous exercise for 24 hours where sweating is involved.
Avoid using any products on your face which contain exfoliating ingredients for 48 hours to avoid irritating your skin any further.
Do not wear any makeup for 24 hours
Do not book in any other facial treatments until 2 weeks after your dermaplaning
No cleansing with hot water. Cool/luke-warm always) This protects the health of your skin barrier.
Follow a very simple skincare routine for 2 weeks post-treatment. Cleanse your skin gently with cool water. Cleanse, moisturizer, and SPF. Serums will be discussed with each individual client.
It is important to moisturize your freshly exfoliated skin regularly to rehydrate it. Many clients find that products containing hyaluronic acid, vitamin C and retinol are particularly effective post dermaplaning treatment due to deeper penetration.
Do not rub your skin dry, instead pat it gently.
Avoid using harsh cleaning devices. Instead use your clean hands to cleanse your face.
